Swansea City vs Manchester United Match Report 2017

Manchester United claimed their second consecutive 4-0 victory as Swansea City suffered a thumping defeat at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday. Eric Bailly put Manchester United in front with his first goal in the first half, during which the home side had defended very well. It was not until the final 10 minutes that the visitors gave the scoreline , with Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial all scoring goals in the space of four minutes.

Swansea City player Gylfi Sigurdsson was sorely missed. Gylfi Sigurdsson who had left Everton on Wednesday in a deal worth a reported £45million following drawn-out negotiations between the two clubs. Jordan Ayew clipped the crossbar early on but that was one of only six attempts by Swansea with one of these being on target.

Romelu Lukaku then poked wide after United embarked on a rapid counter-attack, before Phil Jones headed against the woodwork from a Juan Mata free-kick which he felt should have been done better. Lukaku then opened the floodgates when he found space in the box to direct a considered shot beyond Fabianski in the 80th minute, before Paul Pogba who survived calls for a second yellow card during the first half – lifted a delicate chip over the Poland international. Manchester United vs West Ham United Match Report 2017

Romelu Lukaku started his Premier League debut at Old Trafford by scoring twice as Manchester United began the 2017-18 campaign with a comfortable 4-0 win over West Ham United to top the table after the opening round of fixtures. The Belgian striker, who cost Man United £90m this summer from Everton, has now scored 11 times in his last 11 league appearances against the Hammers. The forward, who has previously represented the likes of Chelsea, West Brom and Everton, opened the scoring by getting at the end of a Marcus Rashford pass to give the hosts a deserved lead in the 33rd minute. He doubled their advantage by heading in Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s free kick seven minutes into the second half. Lukaku was however denied a hat trick by a brilliant block from Pablo Zabaleta.The third goal finally came as Mkhitaryan teed up Anthony Martial with three minutes remaining and Paul Pogba then added a fourth with a curling shot in the last minute.
