Jurgen Klopp the manager of Liverpool’s decision to rest some key players paid off, as his team climbed to fifth position with a convincing 3-0 win over Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium on Wednesday.
Sadio Mane’s goal in the first-half and Mohamed Salah goal in the second half in the 77th & 83rd min half helped the visitors close to the Premier League’s top four.
Mane, who had not scored a goal in his previous five encounters, opened the scoring by punishing a Stoke defence in the 17th minute.
Salah who joined the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Jordan Henderson on the bench fired home from Mane’s cross in the 77th minute thereby confirming important three points with the Reds.
Klopp responded to the slight loss of control by introducing Salah and James Milner and the former quickly continued his good run in front of goal, volleying home Mane’s cross by making it 2-0 with just over 15 minutes remaining.
