Milan are reportedly interested in securing the services of Bayer Leverkusen’s German midfielder Simon Rolfes. The 26 year old defensive midfielder is being targetted as a replacement for the injured Gennaro Gattuso.

Rolfes joined Leverkusen in 2005, and is currently the captain of the Werkself. He has also been capped at national level for Germany, and acquitted himself very well when Germany played Portugal in the quarterfinals of Euro 2008.

Rolfes’ contract is due to expire in 2010.
